Greetings, and welcome to the first issue of NetStart!, a fully interactive magazine on the World Wide Web. The goal of this publication is to provide a single place for parents and kids who are new to the internet to learn more about it.
Getting around on the Net can sometimes be a very intimidating task, especially when you consider the millions of web pages that are out there. How do you sort through them? How do you find what you are looking for? How do you know how to protect your kids from the places you would rather not have them go? You Don't. That's what we are here for.
We search the Internet daily, looking for the best of what's new, and what relates to you and your family. Our list of resources is already fairly large, and growing on a daily basis. With each new issue of NetStart!, you will find new listings of the best pages the internet has to offer.
But what else do we do?
For Parents:
We write articles on how the Internet is changing, and what new trends and technologies are in your future. We provide a listing of internet terms and lingo so you can impress your friends and co-workers (and keep up with your kids). We show you how to get your own pages on the internet. We answer specific questions on anything relating to the Internet. We cover the latest in computer games, so you know what your kids are really asking for.
We also provide you with as comprehensive a list as possible on the best parenting resources available on-line. If you have a question from Attention-Defecite Disorders to Toilet Training, we can point you in the right direction.
For Kids:
We provide stories submitted by professional and guest authors. We provide pictures to print out and colour, and new puzzles to solve. We show them where to find the information they need to do school projects. We point them to other web pages designed by kids just like them and show them how to do it themselves. And much more.
So what do we charge for all this?
Good question, and we hope you will be pleasantly suprised by the answer. First of all, you have issue one to read and browse to your heart's content. Nothing is left out. We publish a new issue every month, full of new articles and information, and it only costs you one dollar a month.
